Floating Tax collection office

Picture of the moment is a weekly series exhibiting pictures from around the world.

The Pagsanjan waterfall in Laguna Bay area in Philippines is protected by environment department. All the boats that go there have to pay a tax. And what better way to keep a tab on their traffic than to have a floating office ?

From another angle.

A wooden bench, a desk, a can of drinking water, some oars and local music. What else do you need to run this office ?

  2. Celine,
I don’t think stationary is that important compared to things I mentioned. 🙂

    Amar,
    Funny? ??? How?

BTW, you are top commenter of this month. Good going. 🙂

  3. Siddhartha,
How does he collect tax? Well, all the regular boats are numbered. The tax is collected on monthly/weekly basis. And positioning of the office is such that it is very easy to keep tab on other boats.

    RV,
Do you want to join there? 😛

  4. Deboshree,
Ha Ha… It did so for me as well!

    Shrinidhi,
    River toll… Isn’t it a nice concept?

Well, the river is full of rocks.. famous for rafting and has too many sharp & blind turns. decide yourself. 😀

  5. @Nisha: Funny as in .. “lol…what a cool idea”

Is there any reward for the top commenter?

And hey.. I see a leg in the pic “from the another angle”…curiosity…any insights?? 🙂

  6. Connie,
Quite an innovative idea ! 😀

    Amar,
No, there is no reward, you greedy ! 😛

Being on top itself is a reward. Earlier Connie used to be top commenter every single month !

  7. Yes, unfortunately I have slacked off, haven’t I? 🙂 Oh my- I better start putting my best foot forward again.

On another topic, I’ve noticed some of my other favorite blogs are not being updated by their authors. It seems the end of the year busy schedules got in the way. Thank you for being faithful to update yours.

  8. @Connie,
Yes, you better do that. Now you have a competitor too!

Oh, is that so? Well, blogs on my list are ever so enthusiastic. I do not have any complaints. 🙂

And talking about myself, I have enough to write about to sustain for 2 more years without travelling even if I am being lazy to write only one post a week.
    So much of backlog. 🙁

I travel more than I write here. Tomorrow I am off again. 🙂

  9. @Nisha,Connie: I have also got similar complaints. A very favourite Hindi blog(very famous too) has not been updated since January last year. It was from an anonymous blogger so can’t even ask him/her 🙁

I don’t know when I will start blogging properly..damn it, I’ve been planning for real long.. always planning around whether to maintain a tech blog, literary or a travelog..maybe I will come up with a mixed one 🙂
