The Charms of Largo do Senado

When in Macau, after satisfying one’s thirst and inclination for gambling and exhausting bulk of travel money in casinos, most tourists spend their evenings at Largo Do Senado or the Senado Square or, if you want to be very correct, Senate Square. Goes without saying that the seat of Macau government was in the building nearby called by a very official sounding name Edificio do Leal Sendao (the Loyal Senate Building).

Not only the tourists, I guess, a lot of Macanese too spend their time here. It is a hangout place!

Some said “you guys are crazy!”, Some others sniggered and sarcastically said “You sure will have some fun!” And yet others flaunted their superior knowledge and voiced “This is not the right time, you must go there in the Winter”.

Best Places to Snowmobile

I had seen pictures & videos of this scooter kind of snow vehicle but to be honest, I wasn’t even sure of the name! So when I was told that we are going to drive snow mobiles, I was a bit apprehensive. Not that I don’t love adventure sports; Scuba diving, Bungee jumping, Parasailing, Rappelling, Segways.. I have done them all. But this? I cheered myself that there is always a first time for everything.

Why you should visit Thailand

Post updated: April 27th, 2020.

When a military coup seized control of Thailand’s government in May 2014, worried travelers cancelled their vacation plans. According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the tourism plummeted by about 20 %. “Should I or shouldn’t I” was the dilemma. Within few weeks Thailand was dancing on its feet again. A bomb blast in Bangkok has raised the issue again.

If you are still confusing over this question with some inconsistent information about travelling to Thailand, then below are some facts & reasons which will ease your decision making for Land of Smiles. 🙂

Meeting the Mayor in Lebrija

Meeting the Mayor in Lebrija and appearing in local TV

I love to visit smaller places that are not very far from a city yet far enough to have its own calm and charm. Ideally located to suit all tastes in holidays Lebrija is one such pretty town only 75 KMs from Seville in the lower basin of the Guadalquivir River. Just relax and take in the traditional Spanish way of life or pay a day’s visit, you’ll remember it for long.

First Impression of Israel

Our First Impression of Israel

Sitting in my hotel in Jerusalem, I ponder upon what is my first impression of Israel. From the outside, this country of conflicts and controversies poses a kind of insecurity to people who want to visit it. I too had my apprehensions.

1. Not so conservative – Living thousands of kilometers away and hearing all kinds of news, I always thought Israel would be very conservative. In fact, barring one, all the dresses and tops I packed were long skirts, trousers or tops with with long sleeves . Tel Aviv, our first city, made us change our views, very quickly. It looks like any modern society of the world, though it is conservative in its own sense.

Four places to visit around Sydney

Let me take you to Sydney this time, one of my favourite cities in the world.

Sydney is an incredible city with world famous landmarks, friendly residents and a temperate climate. Whether you visit the must-see sights such as the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, laze on the beaches of Bondi, Bronte and Coogee or dine out in the historic Rocks district, the city offers a fantastic city break. Sydney is also within easy reach of some remarkable outdoor attractions which I enjoyed a lot when I was there.
